No, that title is not a typo, you are seeing things correctly, registrations have opened today!!!!!!! Or is it Fregistrations? If you have been dreaming of doing a show featuring cats, a show in a tree, a show in the Taranaki Street puddle (or even all three of these things together), now is your chance to get the ball rolling!
“But what if my show is too out there?!” You may ask. No show is too out there! We appreciate the weird and wonderful art that happens at Fringe (as long as it’s legal).
Some things to consider when registering:
A venue! This is the most important thing to have organised when registering. If you have absolutely no idea how to do this/what venue would work for you, contact our amazing Artists and Venue liaison Maddy Warren at firstname.lastname@example.org! She will help you match your show to a venue. If you’re stuck, the earlier you contact her the better.
If you already have an idea of what venue you want, make sure you don’t have to register for that venue through the actual venue! Some venues such as BATS, FatG, and the Fringe Bar all have separate submission processes and cut off dates to pitch your shows to them, so get on to that ASAP.
A catchy, good quality image. This is super important to get audiences noticing your show! None of those low quality selfies with bad Instagram filters, use a high quality, interesting image.
A reliable contact person!!!!! The Fringe team will need to get in touch with you during the process of creating your show, so make sure you put an email/phone number down that is actually used and checked. Make sure you read EVERYTHING you are sent! It makes everyone’s lives so much easier and the whole process more enjoyable for everyone.
If you are stuck on anything, email Maddy, our Artists and Venues liaison: email@example.com. OR, give us a call on 04 831 0581. The sooner you do this the better!
