A Day in the Life: Madison Hegarty

I met Madison when I was in Sydney during the Sydney Fringe Festival. We met at a yoga class, she ended up helping me out in my hour of need during my show, and we went to an incredible play together on my last night in Sydney. During our one wonderful day together I managed to convince her to come check out the NZ Fringe... and here she is!

The Madison Hegarty Tribute Show completely sold out in Sydney and after performing her season here at The Fringe Bar for our Fringe, she is heading to Melbourne to perform at The Butterfly Club and then just casually take over the rest of the world in a storm of glitter, sequins and jazz hands.

This is the third proper time I've hung out with Madison, so I may be a little biased, but I think this NIDA graduate Madison Hegarty is one to watch out for.

So she takes us behind the scenes in to A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MADISON HEGARTY.

STEP 1:

WAKE UP (FLAWLESS)

1

Madison: “its really important when you’re a professional in your field to get your ‘beauty sleep’. This is why I go to sleep with full hair, makeup and costume to ensure I have that beautiful sleep every time.”

HOT TIP: Use permanent marker for lipstick and super glue fake lashes to ensure that beauty sleep stays in tact! You do not want to be waking up a hot mess!!

STEP 2:

EAT THE BREAKFAST OF A STAR

2

Madison: “As well as a beautiful sleep, an artist must honor their body – here is a sneak peak of the breakfast my trainer recommends I eat in order to stay in tip top shape, it’s a concoction of fermented and aged foods, sweet and savoury to guarantee you shit it all out before the end of the day”

HOT TIP: to avoid having the breakfast come out the wrong end, as you don’t want to go damaging your precious vocal chords, wash it down with an anti-acid beverage of your choice.

STEP 3:

EXERCISE TO MAINTAIN HOT SUPERSTAR BODY

3

Madison: “once you’ve had your nutritious breakfast, its time to encourage those bowel movements and head out for some cardio. It’s important to be a good role model and promote a healthy lifestyle of exercise and constant shitting.

HOT TIP: Look the part, but express your art. Whenever you walk out the door you are representing your brand – which is YOURSELF so don’t get lazy with presentation, even when exercising. And don’t forget to stretch ladies. ;)

STEP 4:

MINGLE WITH FANS TO SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION

[gallery ids="1615,1616" type="rectangular"]

Madison: “Its easy for fans to put you on a pedestal, so I like to go out and chat to fans, and share my talent and story with them to remind them just how down to earth I am”

HOT TIP: Fans love selfies, it’s the new craze, and so make sure you take those selfies, so you can capture your best angles, whilst keeping that friendly connection and fun vibe in the shot!

STEP 5:

HOMEWORK AND READING

7

Madison: “ Its important to learn, or remind yourself of something everyday – I like to remind myself of how amazing I am by reading my own life story, It touches me every time I read it, even though I wrote it.”

HOT TIP: Be a narcissistic f*ckwit to really make sure people love you, ALMOST as much as you love yourself.

**ATTENTION READERS**

Unfortunately we could not continue the ‘Day in the life of…’ story as we found the so-called ‘perfect’ Madison in this photo:

As this is the true depiction of Madison we felt it was unjust to allow her to pretend that she did anything else in her day that wasn’t watching TV in her stinky robe eating curry.

The Madison Hegarty Tribute Show is on Wednesday 1 - Saturday 4 at The Fringe Bar with all shows beginning at 7PM.
