3 Monkeys is made up of Three contemporary movements. Each movement corresponding with one of the the Three Japanese Monkeys; MIZARU (see no evil) KIKAZARU (hear no evil) and IWAZARU (speak no evil). The intention differs movement to movement, but as a whole 3 monkeys is an expression of discovering freedom.
As soon as we enter this world we begin learning by what we see and what we hear. Once learnt we spend most of our lives worrying constantly how other people see us, what other people say about us. All the while passing on this broken information by what we say and how we act. 3 monkeys is about disregarding the opinions and expectations from the world around us and breaking away into ourselves. Performed to an original soundtrack by artist/producer LANCE; 3 Monkeys explores a progression from empty searching and feeling trapped to a feeling restoration and complete freedom.
