Fresh as warm gagh, bold as the Vezhof, and as ambitious as finding Valimar, Klingalong: The Constructed Language Singalong is a celebration of three of the best-known languages of fiction - Klingon (Star Trek), Dothraki (Game of Thrones), and Quenya (Lord of the Rings), which collectively have millions of speakers. The show includes a short introduction to the sounds, idioms, and culture contributing to each language, followed by a group singalong through three translated pop songs. Neither a tuneful singing voice nor any previous knowledge of the languages are required, but enthusiasm and audacity are strongly encouraged.
Hosted by singer / accordionist / comedian / formally trained linguist Emma Wollum (Gold Guitars Senior Female Vocalist of the year 2019-20, National Pun Battle finalist 2019, NZ Accordion Association Cecil Smith trophy winner 2018, Raw Quest Wellington winner 2017)
